Leigh-on-Sea, Essex - September 2021

This year I wanted to explore my rusty boat village in 3D. So, along side three new rusty boat paintings on metal, I brought my paintings to life with a three dimensional installation.

Digital artwork for local band ‘Rooskin’ and their single “Just a Town You’re Passing Through”. This track also features the gorgeous voice of Katy for Kings.

Exhibition of 4 new rusty boat paintings October 2019. The main piece of artwork is painted on an old metal panel found at a scrap metal yard which I am particularly proud of.

Leigh Art Trail 2019

The Leigh Art Trail gives me a break from creating posters and provides an opportunity to experiment and exhibit alternative works. This year I am continuing from my previous themes exploring my own quirky interpretation of the Leigh Cockle Sheds and rusty Leigh cockle boats.

For this year’s Art Trail I have painted directly onto raw steel sheets leaving areas of the metal exposed and allowing it to rust. The rusting, when it gets going, can be very quick to take hold, and over the course of a week or so I have watched the images change and grow. The metal and rust adds an incredible texture to the paintings and has played an important part in shaping the final image. Although I have fixed the rust at this point, I love the idea that slowly, over time, they will continue to evolve and change long into the future.

Made in Essex Secret Postcard Sale

The Made in Essex Secret Postcard Sale featured a fabulous collection of mini masterpieces created by the best local artists around.

The postcards were on display at 70 The Broadway, Leigh-on-Sea from Saturday 26 January - Friday 1st February 2019, with all procedes going to support Metal's amazing NetPark Wellbeing project which provides art classes for people living with dementia in Essex.

Leigh Art Trail 2018

Rusty Boats of Leigh

My love of textures (in particular rust) and my quirky illustration style have combined in this unique art project 'Rusty Boats of Leigh'. I have produced two very limited edition illustrations printed onto steel sheets.  Size of metal sheet - 1m x 60cm.  I have deliberately left gaps in the print to allow the metal to show through, and rust to form, such as on the sides of the boats...
